Contains a memoir detailing Bone's military experiences in the Pacific theater. Includes descriptions of the living conditions on the Solomon Islands, Admiralty Islands, and the island of Noemfoor. Also discusses his involvement in local LDS services, his contacts with other LDS servicemen, and support given from his LDS ward at home in Utah. Includes news clippings detailing a dangerous bombing mission against the large Japanese oil fields and refineries at Balikpapan, Borneo. Contains photographs of Bone in military uniform and with his flight crew in front of their plane.

Bone, Donald E., 1922-

Bone served in both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II from 1941-1945. After training in the National Guard, he was assigned to the 40th Division of the Army and, later, to the 5th Bomb Group of the 13th Air Force.
